The opinions of Mr. Jinks were universally admired, firstly because they were entirely in accord with the public taste, secondly, because they were wholly opposed to the opinions of all decent people, and lastly because they were of no use to anybody and of no relevance or interest whatever.

As opiniões do Sr. Jinks eram admiradas universalmente, em primeiro lugar porque estavam inteiramente de acordo com o gosto do público, em segundo lugar, porque eram totalmente opostas às opiniões de todas as pessoas decentes e, finalmente, porque não serviam a ninguém e não eram úteis nem tinham relevância ou interesse qualquer.
