Anamnesis
Somewhere where I shall never live
A palace garden bowers
Such beauty that dreams of it grieve.
There, lining walks immemorial,
Great antenatal flowers
My lost life, before God, recall.
There I was happy and the child
That had cool shadows
Wherein to feel sweetly exiled.
They took all these true things away.
O my lost meadows!
My childhood before Night and Day!
