The End

God knows. Lie we to sleep

     Contentedly somehow,

Smiling that we did weep,

     As at an overthrow

Of kingdoms the stars, deep

     In silence, smile nor know.

God knows. And an He knew not

     And were not, what of it?

No matter that we do not

     Our life with living fit.

Glad to have sleep and tears,

Lullaby to our fears!
