These are, oh Fame, thy many famous and †,

Not only this, for there is fame of days,

And fame that doth remain.[1]

For strength some, some for skill, oh, it dismays.

The mind to think have many a nothing does

Help not fame. For some grave luminous

Upon the moment’s darkness not us

And the darkness displaced stood small again
